Ed Kasemeyer is a leader in the State Senate with a record of accomplishments for Baltimore and Howard County. A longtime community leader and small businessman, Senator Kasemeyer is firmly rooted in his community and uses these roots to help him bring his moderate, pragmatic touch to Annapolis.

A lifelong Maryland resident, Ed went to public schools in Baltimore City and Howard County. After High School, he attended Western Maryland College (now McDaniel). He has long been involved in his community as a board member of Howard County ARC, the Howard County Housing Alliance and is former board President of the Greater Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

As a community member and small business owner, Ed saw the need for sound, smart, fiscally responsible thinking in Annapolis and at the urging of friends and colleagues ran for and was elected to the House of Delegates. After a term in the House, Ed ran for the State Senate and was elected to a full term. Ed ran again for the Senate in 1994, has served there since, as the Majority Leader, Vice-Chair of the Budget & Taxation Committee and currently as the Chair of the Budget & Taxation Committee.

Welcome!

It is an honor to represent the 12th District in the State Senate. The 12th District stretches across southwest Baltimore County (Arbutus, Catonsville, Halethorpe, Lansdowne) and into Howard County (Columbia and Elkridge). As a father, lifelong community member, little league coach and former small business owner, the needs of the community are needs I share, and I encourage you to use this website as an extension of my office.

As your State Senator, I am here to help you in any way I may be of service. Please use this website to contact me with any issues, see what legislation I have sponsored, or simply to share your opinion. As your representative, I do my best work when I am hearing from my constituents. I look forward to hearing from you, seeing you in the community, and working with you to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family.

Sincerely,

Ed
